This
is rendered on a full sheet of Stonehenge white paper (22"
x 30"), using Copperplate Script lettering and including
gouache illustrations. It contains 180 signature/witness
lines.
The illustrations feature the clients' favorite flowers of
Bleeding Heart, Iris, and Columbine... all growing on their
property, Saranam Farm, in Boston, Virginia. The tree
emblem at the top represents a Hickory specimen found
behind the main house -- one of the oldest Hickory trees
found in Virginia. The panoramic illustration at the bottom
depicts the couple's two horses and the main house.
A custom folder was made to house and preserve the
document, using Japanese unryu and mulberry papers and
satin ribbon ties. Its final size is 24" x 32"; its
underlying structure is made from double layers of Crescent
Museum Rag matboard.
