As a commissioned wedding gift, the poem, "The Seasons,"
was written on a separate piece of paper and hand-tipped
into a photography coffee table book on Maine, where the
couple was married. This poem was read at their wedding.
The paper selected is pearl grey Stonehenge paper to bring
out the grey in the facing photo. Certain accents of
yellow-orange were added to further complement the golden
hues in the photo.
Notice how the ink sits on the surface of the paper... a
lovely quality of gouache paint (opaque watercolor). Text
colors of white and a lightened Payne's grey are used to
subtley contrast , yet harmonize, with the
paper.
